Maria Teresa Cruz-Padilla RN, RM, MAEd, MAN is an experienced Nurse/Midwife Educator with36 years in Nursing and Midwifery education. She is a Registered Nurse and Midwife who is actively involved in midwifery education for almost 15 years.

She is the current president of the Association of Philippine Schools of Midwifery, Inc. (APSOM). As the president, she is always invited as speaker in the different conventions related to midwifery education and practice.

As an academician and the head of APSOM, she has provided several faculty development activities and various training programs. She is very active in attending various meetings conducted by CHED, PRC-BOM, DOH. She has also been part of several midwifery forums, conventions, and seminars for midwives since 2014. She participated in the formulation of Technical Standards for Midwives in 2014 and the formulation of the IRR of RA 7392 in 2016 – 2017. She was a member of the Technical Working group in preparing the resolution for Career Progression and Specialization Program.

As member of the CHED Technical Committee on Midwifery Education, she has contributed in the preparation of the Policies, Standards and Guidelines for Midwifery Education, and other CHED Memorandum Orders. She is also a member of the CHED Regional Quality Assurance Team for Region IV-A, B and NCR.
